Position
The role has two primary functions. You’ll lead business development which means everything from pitching to win new clients to evangelising the business in the marketplace.
You’ll also oversee operations, which means team leadership, project and delivery oversight, and P&L. You may need to, gently and respectfully, bring a touch of ‘tough love’ to a talented youthful team, simultaneously maintaining a vibrant culture and increasing their skills and professionalism.
The position will attract a base salary of 0K to 0K, depending on skills and experience, plus a significant bonus component to be negotiated and to be based on performance (client acquisition and retention, revenue, profitability).
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who can work in close collaboration and partnership with the MD and founder of the business. The business has excellent creative and strategic people and you need to compliment these with your commercial and operational skills. You will be able to demonstrate:
A successful track record in winning pitches and in business development within an agency environment.
Excellent contacts and a strong existing client / business network.
A deep knowledge of the digital sector -- preferably complimented by current market-facing activities such conference speaking engagements and/or an established blog.
At least ten years experience in agency roles, preferably most of that in digital. Client side marketing experience considered if combined with other compelling credentials.
Past experience managing people and operations within a project and / or campaign context.
Experience managing business process change and/or implementing or project methodologies in order to achieve optimum delivery and service quality as well as strong P&L performance.
You may currently be in a GM in a smaller agency, or in an operations or business development or client service role in a medium or larger size agency. You will absolutely have a good name and reputation in the industry – trust and integrity are paramount.
